Who we are

Shaheen Khan operates LearningFizz at learningfizz.com. For questions about your personal information or to exercise your rights, email shaheen@learningfizz.com.

Information we use

  • Orders and downloads: the name, email address and billing details you supply, the resources you buy, payment status and transaction references, and the information needed to authorise your downloads.
  • Optional accounts: your account details and associated purchase history. WordPress stores a protected password hash rather than a readable account password.
  • Support: messages and order details you choose to send us.
  • Reviews: the name, email address, review and rating you submit. Your chosen display name, review and rating may appear publicly. Please avoid including private information in a review.
  • Technical and security information: IP address, browser/device information and records needed to operate sessions, protect the website, process payments and investigate problems.

The shop and customer accounts are intended for adult parents and teachers. Children can use the learning materials without creating an account. Please do not send us a child’s personal information when asking a general resource question.

Why we use it

We use order and account information to perform our contract with you: processing purchases, supplying downloads and operating the optional account you request. We use relevant information for our legitimate interests in answering enquiries, maintaining and securing the website, preventing fraud and handling disputes. We retain information where needed to meet legal obligations, including applicable business-record requirements.

Buying a resource, creating an account or downloading a free sample does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. The two free homepage samples do not require you to give us an email address.

Payments and service providers

SiteGround hosts the website, its database and delivery files, and sends website order emails. WooPayments, provided through Automattic with its payment partner Stripe, processes payments and payment-security information. Card numbers and card security codes are entered into hosted payment fields; they are not stored in LearningFizz’s WordPress database. We receive payment status, references and relevant payment-method information.

Zoho Mail handles the Shaheen contact mailbox. Google Gmail handles administrative notifications, which may include order information. Authorised website operators can access information needed to administer the shop and help customers. Product-review avatars may be provided by Gravatar if an avatar is associated with the reviewer’s email address.

These providers may use international processing locations. Their privacy and data-protection terms describe their processing arrangements and transfer safeguards. Contact us if you need details about a transfer relevant to your information.

Provider information: SiteGround, Automattic, Stripe, Zoho, Google and Gravatar.

Cookies and similar storage

The website uses cookies and related session storage for the basket, checkout, sign-in, selected currency and payment security. WooCommerce uses basket/session cookies; WordPress uses login and authentication cookies; the payment provider may use security and fraud-prevention identifiers. The exact cookies depend on whether you browse, add resources to your basket, sign in or use checkout.

Optional WooCommerce order-attribution tracking is disabled. No advertising pixel, marketing signup or analytics account has been connected. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, but blocking storage needed for the basket or sign-in may prevent those features from working.

How long we keep information

We keep information for the purpose for which it is needed. Order and download-permission records are needed to supply purchases and support continuing access to purchased files. Account information is needed while you keep an account. Support correspondence is kept while needed to resolve the enquiry and any associated order or dispute. Some records must be kept for applicable accounting, legal-claim or other legal requirements.

When information is no longer needed for these purposes, it should be deleted or anonymised. Restricted backup copies may retain older information until those backups are rotated or securely deleted. Ask us if you need the retention criteria for a particular record or want to request deletion; deleting an order or account may affect access to associated downloads, and some records may need to be retained for legal reasons.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Email shaheen@learningfizz.com to make a request or raise a concern. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing or changing information. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

We will update this notice when the website’s use of personal information changes. Check the date at the top for the latest version.
